Toshi's industry and famous products

The fishing industry is popular because we have good fishing grounds in Toshi.

Most of the people make their living by fishing.

We introduce some famous produucts of Toshi.

These are ear shells ( abalones ).

The women divers cacth them by diving into the water with out any eauipment for diving.

They catch them only some days in Summer.

In summer they catch bigger ones than these ones in the photog.

These are kounago.

We catch them winter and spring (end of March).

We scoop them big net like spoon.

It's diameter is about 2meter.

  

These are lobster.

We don't catch them a lot .

We catch more in Shima area then Toshi.

They are sold 10000yen per 1 kilogram.

 

These are prawws.

We catch them with a dragret at night.

We have a lot in September and October.

These are triton shells.

We catch them with a set net at the end of the year.

We set the set net in the evening and take it in the morning.

 

These are oysters.

We don't catch them a lot a famous product.

But we catch some in winter.

 

These are sea cucumbers.

We have two kinds, red one and blue one.

 

We have some other products.

It is one of the high-class fishes.

We catch them with shrimp as bait.

Our school grow them every year.

They are similar with flounders.

When we place them with the side having gills on the back, the head of ones in the left are soles, and the head of ones in the right are flounders.
